DIVA COLONOSCOPE/ GI ENDOSCOPES

Our DIVA Colonoscope/GI Endoscopes incorporate “chip-on-a-stick” technology with our proprietary disposable LightGuides. Designed specifically for colonoscopy and gastrointestinal applications for office and clinical diagnostic use, these endoscopes are 5mm in diameter and 700mm long. Unlike fiber optic imaging systems, the DIVA System utilizes an articulated subminiature camera located at the distal end of the device and a proprietary optical design with improved image resolution to obtain high quality images. Used with the Sterile Extender, the pre-sterilized, disposable LightGuides provide a sterile barrier that permits the internal optical system and camera to be used in multiple procedures without the necessity of re-sterilization.

Articulation of the camera’s distal end is performed using controls outside the body. These controls adjust the camera and optical systems, as well as the LightGuide. A lumen, coupled with the light guide, may be used for biopsies and/or laser or RF for removal and cauterization.

The LightGuide is a high transmission flexible plastic tube. The tube interfaces with a reusable light annulus (a ring of individual fiber optics) at the proximal end that, in turn, is connected to a light source that provides illumination within the body cavity. In order to allow the endoscope to be guided with minimal force, this flexible material, as well as that of the electronic cable which carries video information, is designed to offer little resistance The LightGuide can either be integrated with the lumen as a single device or used independently, and provides sufficient light levels for the camera to see clear, concise images. It can be removed and disposed of at the conclusion of a procedure.

The combination of the laparoscope’s small diameter, the LightGuide’s flexibility, and the unique articulation system permits the instrument to be safely maneuvered to transit body orifices.
