MICRO INVASIVE TECHNOLOGY INC.

Micro Invasive Technology, Inc., a Connecticut corporation founded in 2003, has developed cutting edge imaging laparoscopes for the next generation of minimally invasive surgical tools. Our technology is based on multiple intellectual properties and extensive experience in optics, electronics, and surgical instrumentation. Our principals have extensive knowledge of micro invasive surgery markets and trends.

Every year, nearly 2,000,000 patients incur hospital-acquired infections; of these, nearly two thirds suffer infections that resist at least one antibiotic drug. Approximately 100,000 Americans die annually from such hospital-bred infections. Our minimally invasive, pre-sterilized, disposable DirectView™ Laparoscopic System is designed to address these problems.

MITI has received FDA 510(k) approval to produce and sell our DirectView™ DIVA Laparoscopic System with our disposable and interchangeable angled LightGuides. The FDA has determined that MITI’s “DirectView™ laparoscopes may be used by qualified physicians for general diagnostic and laparoscopic surgical procedures for visualization of body cavities, organs, and canals to perform various diagnostic and surgical procedures.”

Our DirectView™ ENDOSCOPIC PRODUCTS include the DIVA Laparoscopic System and its individual components. The DIVA Laparoscopic System consists of a unique 4 lens DIVA Laparoscope (in lieu of the 26 lenses now necessary for a conventional scope) that is used with pre-sterilized disposable and interchangeable, angled DIVA LightGuides. Because of their unique construction, our DIVA Laparoscopes offer additional advantages of low heat, electrical insulation, and ease of sterilization, at significant less cost, without either changing the use of the device or compromising its application. Because of our disposable and interchangeable angled DIVA LightGuides, each patient is provided with the equivalent of a new laparoscope with each procedure, thus reducing both the risk of infection and the cost of sterilization. Equally important, the DIVA Laparoscopic System allows a surgeon to use one laparoscope in place of the two or three expensive angled scopes now required to acquire a complete field of view. This will significantly reduce both surgical and hospital inventory costs.
